CHICAGO TORTURE JUSTICE CENTER

The Chicago Torture Justice Center was born out of reparations for survivors of police torture, dating back to the 70s. The Center is a necessary piece of the bigger movement to end all police violence. Therefore, my design focuses on collective healing and education for those affected by racial segregation. The space is meant to dismantle systems of harm through strengthening relationships, in the community, giving people autonomy on how to heal, and creating systems of accountability.
