The mission for the new renovation to Waterloo Arts is to “enrich the neighborhood culturally and economically by creating stimulating art environments through a gym and educational area where people of all ages can utilize the spaces.” The area combines sports with gardening/art workshop which can be risky however the design clearly yet cohesively distinguishes the two spaces in a fun, contrasting way through the use of materials. An important driver for the spaces was to create multipurpose areas that can serve the community in many ways.
